Dr. Ileana Carreno graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1979, with a doctorate in Dental Surgery. Her undergraduate was at the University of Southern California where she received a microbiology degree in 1974.

Involvement in the profession of dentistry has always been important to Dr. Carreno. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Hawaii Dental Association, Kauai County Dental Association. Along with memberships in the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

She has served on the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Dental Services along with the Hawaii Dental Association with it's committee of volunteer organizers.

Dr. Ileana Carreno is a dental artist who combines the science of dentistry with her love for artistry. Her love for the arts allows her to blend expertise that is required to create am individual look for her patients by enhancing function and beauty.

She strives to continue with keeping up her education in dentistry to able to deliver excellent quality care.  You will find Dr. Carreno traveling to further her education and learning new technologies and materials to keep her abreast of what is going on in the field of dentistry and what is going to ultimately benefit her patients here on the islands.

As a child of 7 years old she already had a passion for drawing, and painting and she was always taking art classes. It has continued up to now the present day. Art specifically watercolors which she loves has helped her in blending the science of dentistry with my artistic ability. She is a perpetual student of both fields.

She finds that even though we are far away in the middle of the ocean with the newest technologies we can keep up with new knowledge and education, but visiting the Mainland often and going to museums and galleries are an additional joy.

Living in Kilauea for the last 28 years has allowed her to treasure the beauty of our land of Hawaii and the Ocean. Along with truly enjoying the culture diversity of the people and communities which she has been privilege to serve all this years.
